Potter’s House Apothecary has partnered with Midwestern University College of Pharmacy-Glendale to offer a PGY1 Community Pharmacy Residency. This residency is designed to foster the growth of an innovative and creative pharmacist who is dedicated to meeting the unique needs of patients. It is a 12-month program that is currently in Candidate status with the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP).
A pharmacist completing the PGY1 Community Residency program will gain experience in a unique area of medicine focusing on compounded medications in an independent pharmacy setting. The residency enforces compounding skills, along with patient care skills in a collaborative, highly clinical environment. Pharmacists at Potter’s House provide in-depth patient consultations on compounded medications, work with health care providers to design and monitor treatment plans, and customize individual formulas for compounded medications based on patient specific needs.
The program is organized into 7 core learning experiences that extend over a 10-month period, followed by 2 months of elective learning experiences. The resident will spend approximately one day per week at Midwestern University participating in various teaching activities.
